What came next was a little trip to the French Alps!
Unfortunately the trip started a little rockier than we'd hoped, and i don't mean the mountains. Amelia wasn't very well (just a cold nothing too serious) but it meant travelling wasn't the easiest and then we had a missing suitcase situation where someone walked off with Sarah and Greg's bag. Nightmare. Fortunately it was recovered early the next day so it didn't slow us down for too long.
Once we arrived at the apartment we quickly unpacked and went down to the ski hire place to get me some skis and Greg a board and boots.
We only had the afternoon left to get our bearings and see whether we could still ski. Fortunately it didn't take long to get back into it and we were soon trying to see who could get down the runs fastest (me).
We were so lucky with the weather. Mostly it was blue skys and perfect snow.

We found La Folie Deuce pretty sharpish and stopped off for a drink before calling it a day.

As i mentioned in this post, Joel and I are both really snap happy (which i love) and we want to go on a photography course this summer... well it's actually happening and has been booked this week! Unfortunately these photos were taken ages ago so apologies if the quality is just so so... they're about to get way better (i hope!) Didn't stop us taking loads anyway...

We did spend some time off skis and had a few really funny moments attempting to go and get baguettes (bien sur) in the middle of a snow shower...

Sorry this post is largely just photos of my face / my boyfriends but there were too many to chose from and it was our first holiday away so i know i'll want to look back at these pictures one day.
As i mentioned at the start of this post we came away with my family and i've got tones more with them coming up in the next post...

Hey Maddie! Love this post, there's no need to apologise for capturing your fav memories to look back on! Where abouts did you stay? I went to Val Thorens earlier in the year, but was wondering if you'd been to Val D'isere?

Thank you and thank you! Will definitely check out your blog :) x
ReplyDeleteWe stayed just a few miles away from St Gervais. Was really lovely. I've been to Val D before and really enjoyed it, it's much bigger than a lot of resorts so lots of ski and plenty of places to eat / apres! M xx
ReplyDeleteGreat thank you! That's something I'll look in to! I love skiing, seeing your holiday snaps has made me eager to go again🎿Xx
